Where Quality Books Go

For months, I have been working on the book Surviving the Writing Apocalypse. Through the production of the book the idea to create a website surrounding the book came about.  My best-friend and publicist and I decided there should be a website dedicated to quality indie books for authors and readers alike.  We searched the internet and found a few places with this idea, but it ended there.

We had to be different to make an impact.  We decided the website would be a full service site complete with author resources such as freelance editors, graphic artists, formatters, bloggers, and freelance publicists, along with downloads to the key things that help some authors such as character sheets and book logs.  My simple website became something huge.

The book was finally published through Booktango Dec 10,2012.  It was my hope our website would be up Dec 21, 2012 (our latest doomsday), but we still had books to read.  The launching date was moved to 01/01/13, today. And so, today the publish button was hit and the beta phase of The Writing Apocalypse website went into full swing.  This could be a complete flop or a major literary accomplishment. One can never tell, but what I do know is that my entrepreneur  genes are ready to see this become a success.

What does the website offer?

  • Book of the month feature page
  • Specific genres listed
  • Author resources
  • Books with links
  • Book of the year with two runners-up
  • Room to grow
  • 3 chapter or 30 page review service
  • advertising opportunities for small indie services
  • social media shout outs for the books on our site through FB, twitter, and of course here

I think offering all this is what will make us stand apart.  So if you need some quick, cut-and-dry pointers with some of the writing guidelines set forth by the industry read the book Surviving the Writing Apocalypse. If you need some resources or just looking for a quality indie book to read, then look into our website The Writing Apocalypse.  Be sure to check out our book of the month by Katie Jennings, When Empires Fall.  And thank you all so much for the support we have received in bringing this thought into fruition.
